The cannon was not only a powerful weapon in war it was also an important social tool. The cannon could make or break relationships in a matter of seconds. Then again, all situations depend in the case of the cannon. In a situation if there was a treaty between lets say Britain and France. But, Britain and Germany also had a treaty and Germany was attacking France. Then in the case Britain's cannons could only strengthen the bond between the two countries(France and Britain). But, in turn completely destroying the bond between Germany, making them an enemy of the country. In a war, if the cannon helps a nation win, but in some cases it also makes them lose.
