The cannon was a great achievement for many countries throughout the ages. The cannon helped the economy greatly in some places of the world. It made things like businesses that made cannons and jobs for people who not only for the manufactures of the cannons but also for the common soldier who was now able to learn new technology and man this weapon. When this sizable weapon was used in battles it also helped the economy. The reasoning for this is that the cannon could easily smash through opposing forces, which in turn usually led to a victory. Which would have an annexation or take over of a country to follow the victory which would mean more cash flow within the country(ies) borders.
